How to take a scrolling screenshot on Windows

Print Screen and the Snipping Tool capture only what is on the screen. For a long screenshot of a web page on a Windows PC or laptop, use your browser instead.

Way 1: Microsoft Edge (already on your PC)

  1. Open the page in Edge and press Ctrl+Shift+S.
  2. Choose Capture full page.
  3. Click Save. More about Edge capture.

Way 2: Chrome without an extension

Chrome has a full page command in Developer Tools: Ctrl+Shift+I, then Ctrl+Shift+P, type screenshot and choose Capture full size screenshot. Step-by-step Chrome guide.

Way 3: Firefox

Press Ctrl+Shift+S and click Save full page. Firefox guide.

Way 4: an extension with an editor

  1. Open the page and click the PageScan icon in the toolbar, or press Alt+Shift+S.
  2. Choose Full page. The page scrolls by itself for a few seconds; stay on the tab.
  3. The editor opens. Add arrows, text or blur if you need to, then click Download and pick PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF.

When the built-in way is not enough

Built-in captures cut pages that scroll inside a panel, like web mail, Notion or Jira. The built-in tools have no editor either, so a note or a blur means a second app.

PageScan handles these cases and opens an editor right after the capture:
