Click the icon when the call starts
Chrome hands over the sound of a tab only after a real click on the extension icon. Nothing starts listening on its own, and there is no autostart to forget about.
It hears who is being asked
The extension recognises the speech of the meeting tab and works out which turn was addressed to you — not every line spoken, only the one you have to answer.

Questions, answered.
Does a bot join my interview?+
No. Cue runs inside your browser tab — nothing appears in the participant list, and the other side sees you and nothing else.
How does it know the question was for me?+
It knows which participant you are, from the call itself or from a name you set, and answers the turn addressed to you. Questions put to somebody else do not become cards.
Which calls does it work in?+
Google Meet, Microsoft Teams (web) and Zoom (web), in Chrome and Chromium browsers. The desktop Zoom and Teams applications are outside a browser tab, and an extension cannot reach them.
Can it translate the interview?+
Yes, and it does so by default: every recognised line also arrives in your language, and the answer is written in the language you pick — 68 to choose from, switchable mid-call.
Is it allowed in my interview?+
That is between you and whoever is running it. Cue does not hide itself and we promise no secrecy; many interviews and assessments do not allow outside help, and knowing which is on you.
Is this the same as Trippi?+
No — separate extensions with separate plans. Trippi puts translated captions over a whole meeting; Cue answers the question that was asked of you and translates the call underneath.
Honest limits
What it cannot do, and where the sound goes.
The audio of the tab goes straight from your browser to our speech-to-text provider over an encrypted connection — it does not pass through our servers and is never recorded. The recognised text and the answer are kept for 30 days so a poor answer can be told from a poor question, and are then deleted.
Browser calls only
The desktop Zoom and Teams applications live outside a browser tab, and no extension can reach them. Cue works on the web versions, on a computer — there is no phone version and mobile browsers do not run extensions like this.
A real click starts it
Tab capture lives on the activeTab permission: without your click on the icon Chrome gives no sound at all. Nothing — and nobody — can switch it on for you.
It hears speech, it does not see your screen
A whiteboard, a shared editor, a diagram on screen — none of that reaches Cue. It works from what is said out loud, which is most of an interview but not all of it.
The answer is a suggestion
A model writes it from the last minutes of the call. Read it before you say it: it can be wrong, and it knows nothing about you beyond what was said and what you typed into “About this meeting”.
