Why price per hour and not price per plan
Some sell minutes, some sell credits, some sell unlimited with careful small print. There is one unit they all share: what an hour of live translation costs on the cheapest paid tier. That is the fourth column — tier price divided by its hours.
It is deliberately crude: tiers bundle different features, and an exact comparison only exists for your own usage. But the order of magnitude in that column is honest, and it ranges from $0.60 to $6 an hour.
What the platforms charge for the same thing
Google sells translated captions in Meet with Workspace Business Standard, from $14 per user a month, switched on by an administrator. On a personal account the only path is Google AI Pro at around $20 a month, and that is a subscription to all of Gemini. Microsoft asks for Teams Premium, about $10 per user a month on an annual plan. Zoom sells translated captions as a separate add-on.
The price matters less than who can buy it: all of the above is bought by an organisation and enabled by an administrator. A guest on someone else’s call, a contractor, a person on a personal account cannot turn it on at any price — the setting is not theirs.
What no price includes — and how to check it
A maintained tool costs more to run than an abandoned one, and the price page never says which you are looking at. There is one open check: the “Updated” line on the store listing, written by the store rather than by the developer. In our sweep of this niche on 7 September 2026, 25 extensions in the same searches had not been updated for a year or more, several for three years.
Check us the same way. If Trippi’s listing ever shows a year-old date, believe the store and not this page.

How fresh are these prices?+

Why is translation quality not in the table?+
Because we have not measured it the same way for everyone yet. The protocol exists — one scripted conversation on our test stand, a reference transcript, coverage and latency — and the numbers will appear here after that run, not before.
What is cheapest for occasional calls?+
The free tier. Ours is 25 minutes a month with no card and no account; others give minutes per day or a one-off trial. Paying starts to make sense when translation becomes a habit.
Does any of this work in desktop apps?+
Browser extensions do not, ours included: they can only reach a tab. Translation inside the desktop Zoom or Teams is sold by the platforms themselves, and bought by an organisation.
