Getting started
Do I need Google Workspace or Teams Premium?+
No. Trippi works on free and personal accounts — exactly where the platforms don't translate captions at all.
Which apps does it work in?+
Google Meet, Zoom on the web, Microsoft Teams on the web, Webex, and Discord voice channels — and, since it captures the tab itself, any other tab with sound: webinars, lectures, live streams, Slack huddles. Desktop apps are coming through a companion app.
Does it work outside meetings — on webinars, lectures or live streams?+
Yes. Trippi takes the sound from the browser tab, so a webinar you are watching, an online class, a YouTube live stream or a podcast get the same translated subtitles as a meeting. It does not need to know which site it is.
Can the notes and summary be in a different language than the meeting?+
That is the normal case. The meeting runs in one language, and the transcript, the bilingual notes and the summary come out in the language you read.
Do I need an account to try it?+
No. The free plan works with no account and no card — add the extension and turn it on.
How do I turn it on in a meeting?+
Open the call in Chrome, click the Trippi icon, pick the two languages and press Start captions. It takes about five seconds.
Which languages are supported?+
English paired with Russian, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Hindi, in both directions. More pairs are being added.
Does it work on my phone?+
Not yet. Trippi is a Chrome extension, so it needs a desktop browser.
Privacy & security
Will a bot join my call?+
No. Nothing appears in the participant list — Trippi is an overlay drawn in your browser and only you see it.
What happens to my meeting audio?+
It is processed to produce captions and translation in real time, and nothing else. It is not stored after the session and never sold.
Can other participants see the subtitles?+
No. The overlay lives in your browser only — nothing about it is visible to anyone else in the call.
Where is the transcript stored?+
In your own browser. A copy reaches us in two cases and no others: the after-call email to your own account address, and the Summarize button you press yourself. In both, the text is used and then dropped — nothing stays on our servers. You can switch either off, export the transcript as .txt or Markdown, or delete it.
Is it legal to caption a meeting?+
Reading along with what you can already hear is normally fine, but recording and consent rules differ by country and company. Follow the rules that apply where you are.
Plans & billing
What do I get for free?+
25 minutes of live translation a month, on every supported platform, with no card and no account.
What do the paid plans add?+
Hours of live translation a month — 10 for $6, 25 for $12, 70 for $24 — plus the meeting transcript and summary. Run out early and you can add hours without changing plan.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes, in one click. Access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
Do you offer team billing?+
Not yet — Pro is a personal subscription for now. Write to us if you need several seats.
Still have a question?
Write to us and a person answers — usually within one working day.
Stop guessing what they said.
