Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and ChromeOS install the Chrome package. Desktop Zoom/Teams apps — later, via a companion app.

What happens after you install it

• The extension appears in your list and is worth pinning: the toolbar icon is the only way to start it.
• No account is needed. The free 25 minutes a month are counted on your device and work immediately.
• Open a meeting in Meet, Zoom or Teams in the browser and click the icon — that is where you pick the spoken language and your reading language.
• Captions appear over the call and are visible only to you. Nothing is added to the meeting.

Where it works, and where it does not

Chrome and Chromium-based browsers — Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and ChromeOS: the package installs from the Chrome Web Store. Edge has its own listing on Microsoft Edge Add-ons, same package, no extra steps. Firefox and Safari use a different extension format, so it is not there yet.

It works on meetings opened in a browser tab. The Zoom and Teams desktop apps are separate programs a browser extension cannot see into; those need a companion app, which does not exist yet.

Updates and uninstalling

Chrome updates the extension on its own — there is nothing to do. To remove it, right-click the icon and choose “Remove from Chrome”: settings were stored locally and go with it, leaving nothing behind.
