Webinar translation is sold to the organiser, not to you.

Event platforms translate a webinar for the whole audience: the organiser buys the service, wires it into the stream and picks which languages exist. If they did not — and most do not — there is no control on your side of the screen. Trippi captures the audio of the tab you are watching and writes the translation under it, which is a decision you can make alone, ten seconds before the session starts.

It does not matter which webinar platform it is

Trippi takes the sound from the browser tab rather than integrating with a platform, so a Zoom webinar, a Teams live event, a YouTube broadcast, a Vimeo player or a custom player on somebody’s marketing site are all the same thing to it: a tab that is making sound.

The same applies to the replay. A recording you open a week later plays through the tab exactly as the live session did, and gets subtitles the same way.

What it does not do

It does not give the room a shared translation. The subtitles are drawn in your tab and nobody else sees them — if the audience needs translation, the organiser still needs an event platform.

It does not dub the audio. You read the translated line while the speaker keeps talking, with the original line underneath if you want to check a term.

How it works

1

Add to Chrome

One click from the Chrome Web Store. No account, no install wizard.

2

Open the webinar in a tab

Any webinar platform will do — Trippi needs the sound of the tab. Click the icon and press Start captions.

3

Read the session in your language

Every sentence arrives in your language a second behind the speaker.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the organiser to enable anything?+

No. Nothing is requested from the host and nothing is added to the event — Trippi works from the audio your own browser is already playing.

Will other attendees see the captions?+

No. The overlay is drawn in your tab only, and no participant is added to the session.

Does it work on a webinar recording?+

Yes. Anything the tab plays gets captions, live or recorded.

Which platforms are supported?+

Any webinar that plays in a browser tab, including Zoom webinars, Teams live events and streams on a page of the organiser’s own.
