Most companies have a learning or tooling budget, and a $6–24 monthly line rarely needs more than a manager’s reply. The reason people pay out of their own pocket is not the price — it is that nobody wants to write the email, and nobody knows what security will ask. Both are solved below: a letter you can copy, and the honest answers about audio, transcripts and what leaves your machine.

Several of my weekly meetings run in English at native speed, and I lose part of what is said — mostly in <standup / customer calls / architecture reviews>. I would like to expense a tool called Trippi: it is a browser extension that puts live translated subtitles over the meeting, so I can follow it in real time and re-read the transcript afterwards.
It costs $6 a month for 10 hours, $12 for 25 hours or $24 for 70 hours, billed monthly and cancellable any time. Nothing is installed on the company side, no bot joins our calls, and the meeting transcript stays in my browser rather than on their servers.

The questions your manager or security will ask
- Does a bot join our meetings? No. Nothing appears in the participant list and nothing is announced — the subtitles are drawn in one person’s browser.
- Is our audio recorded? No. Audio is relayed to Trippi’s own server, turned into captions and dropped. It is not stored and not sold — see the privacy policy.
- Where does the transcript live? In the employee’s browser, on their own machine. Trippi does not receive it and cannot read it. A summary is built only when the person presses the button.
- Do we need IT to install it? Only if your company manages Chrome or Edge centrally and blocks extensions by policy — then an admin allows this one extension, and nothing else changes.
- Is there a receipt? Payment goes through Paddle, which emails a receipt for every charge; that is what goes into the expense report.
What to expect if you ask for a team
There are three team plans — $49, $99 and $199 a month for 120, 250 and 500 hours in one shared pool, covering up to 5, 15 and 40 people. Below about five people a stack of personal subscriptions still costs less, and it is usually simpler too: one line per person on an expense report beats a procurement cycle.
If a whole team needs it, all three sizes are bought straight from the pricing page — by card, monthly or yearly, with a receipt for every charge. Write to contact first if your finance team needs a company invoice or a VAT number on it.

How much does it cost per person?+

Is there a team or company plan?+
Yes — three sizes, all of them one shared pool of hours: $49 a month for 120 hours and up to 5 people, $99 for 250 and up to 15, $199 for 500 and up to 40. For two or three people personal plans are still cheaper. All three are bought on the pricing page.
Will the company see my meeting transcripts?+
Nobody sees them, including us. The transcript is stored in your browser on your machine, and it is exported only if you export it.
Do our meetings have to move to the browser?+
The meeting has to be open in a browser tab — Google Meet, Zoom on the web, Teams on the web. The desktop apps are out of reach for a browser extension.
Can I cancel if the team stops using it?+
Yes, in one click, and the subscription is monthly — there is no annual commitment to explain to anyone.
