The bot and the calendar
Fireflies joins at the start time of every meeting it is set to join, under the name Fireflies.ai Notetaker, and asks to be admitted if you are not the host (Fireflies FAQ). Fireflies also has a way without the bot: its Chrome extension, on Google Meet. On Zoom and Teams, the bot is the way.
Trippi Notes needs no calendar and joins nothing. It hears the meeting tab after you click its icon, on Meet, Zoom in the browser and Teams in the browser. No bot does not mean secret. Tell people at the start that you take AI notes: what to say and a line to paste in the chat.
Languages and translation
Fireflies is ahead on the language list: 100+ for transcripts and summaries, with an auto-detect mode for calls that switch languages. Trippi Notes recognizes 68.
The difference is what happens when the call is not in your language. Fireflies transcribes it in that language. Trippi Notes adds a line of translation under each line during the call, and writes the summary, decisions and tasks in your language. If you work in English and the client speaks German, that is the part you need.
What Fireflies does better
- Recording and playback. Fireflies keeps the recording, with playback speed controls. Trippi Notes keeps no audio or video.
- Platforms. Ten-plus meeting platforms, a desktop app and phone apps. Trippi Notes works only in Chrome on a computer, in three browser meeting apps.
- Integrations. Fireflies connects to CRM tools such as HubSpot, to Slack and Notion, and to Zapier. We send tasks to Linear, Jira and Asana, export Markdown or plain text, and offer an MCP server.
- Hands-off. Once set, it joins by itself. Trippi Notes needs a click in each meeting, and your own microphone is not in its transcript.
Price
Fireflies Pro is $10 a seat a month on a yearly plan, or $18 month to month. Trippi Notes is $6 a month for 10 hours of meetings, $12 for 25 hours and $24 for 70 hours. Light users pay less with us; people who spend most of the day in calls may pay less per hour with Fireflies.
Trippi Notes, with its limits
A Chrome extension for a computer. Click its icon in a Google Meet, Zoom or Teams tab in the browser, and it writes the transcript with names and times, a translation line in your language, then a summary, tasks with owners and a follow-up email draft. It does not join the call, keep audio or video, work in desktop apps or on a phone, or start from your calendar. Your own microphone is not in the transcript.
