Checked 1 October 2026. “Billed yearly” prices are the monthly equivalent of a yearly payment. Each of these tools also has a plan with no charge and with limits; we compare paid plans only. Otter showed a discount on its month-to-month Pro price that day; $16.99 is the list price next to it.
How to read the “bot” column
A bot is a separate participant that joins the call, usually because you connected your calendar and turned on auto-join. Everyone sees it in the participant list, and a host can keep it in the lobby. Otter, Fireflies, Fathom and Read.ai all work this way by default.
“No bot” does not mean one tool. Four of the five also have a way to work without their bot: Otter and Read.ai through their desktop apps, Fathom on Mac, Fireflies through a Chrome extension on Google Meet. Tactiq never uses a bot at all. Trippi Notes has no bot either: it hears the meeting tab in your browser after you click its icon.
No bot does not mean secret. Tell people at the start that you take AI notes: what to say and a line to paste in the chat.
Where each one is stronger
- Desktop apps and phones. Otter, Fireflies, Read.ai and Fathom work with the Zoom and Teams desktop clients, and most have phone apps. Trippi Notes works only in Chrome and other Chromium browsers on a computer.
- Automatic start. Bot tools join from your calendar without you doing anything. Trippi Notes starts only when you click its icon in the meeting tab, every time.
- Recording. Otter, Fireflies, Fathom and Read.ai keep audio and, on many plans, video recording with playback. Trippi Notes keeps text only, never audio or video.
- Integrations. The bot tools connect to CRM systems such as Salesforce and HubSpot, and to Slack or Notion. Trippi Notes sends tasks to Linear, Jira and Asana, exports Markdown or plain text, and has an MCP server for AI assistants.
- Heavy use. If you sit in calls most of the day, a plan with no cap on meetings costs less per hour than ours. Our plans are sold by hours: 10, 25 or 70 hours a month for $6, $12 or $24.
Where Trippi Notes is different
It was built for meetings in a language that is not your first. You get the transcript with names and times, and under each line a translation in your language, while the call is running. The summary, the tasks and the follow-up email come out in your language too. Speech is recognized in 68 languages.
Nothing joins the call and nothing needs your calendar. The limits are just as real: it hears the tab, so it writes what the others say and what you hear; your own microphone is not in the transcript.

What Trippi Notes does, and what it does not
A Chrome extension for a computer. One click on the icon in a Google Meet, Zoom or Teams tab in the browser, and it writes the transcript with speaker names, a translation line in your language, then a summary by template, tasks with owners, and a follow-up email draft. Meetings go to your journal with search. It does not keep audio or video, does not work in desktop apps or on a phone, and does not join from your calendar.
