A Tactiq alternative when the call is not in your language
Trippi Notes team · facts checked on 2026-10-01
Tactiq and Trippi Notes are close: both are Chrome extensions, neither sends a bot, both work on Google Meet, Zoom and Teams in the browser. So the choice comes down to smaller things, and some of them favour Tactiq. Facts checked on 1 October 2026.

Both without a bot, honestly
If the reason you are here is “no bot”, Tactiq already gives you that, and so does Trippi Notes. Neither adds a participant, neither needs the host to admit anything. No bot does not mean secret. Tell people at the start that you take AI notes: what to say and a line to paste in the chat.
Tactiq also translates. Its site describes translated live captions and transcript translation into 30+ languages, and AI summaries in the language you prefer. We will not tell you otherwise.
Where the two differ
- How the call is heard. On Teams, Tactiq’s help asks you to turn on Teams live captions for transcription to work (Tactiq and Teams). On Meet it does not need captions (Tactiq and Meet). Trippi Notes hears the sound of the tab on all three and runs its own speech recognition, so it does not depend on the platform’s captions.
- Languages. Tactiq’s list depends on the platform: about 70 on Meet but 32 on Zoom, and it transcribes one selected language at a time. Trippi Notes recognizes the same 68 languages on Meet, Zoom and Teams.
- Translation under each line. Trippi Notes shows the translation as a second line under each line, next to the original, so you can check any phrase. The summary, tasks and follow-up email come out in your language.
- After the call. Trippi Notes adds summary templates (sales call, interview, stand-up, one-on-one, retro, customer interview, your own), questions to AI with quotes that jump to the moment, a task list across meetings with Linear, Jira and Asana, and an MCP server for your journal.
What Tactiq does better
- Desktop clients on Mac. Tactiq has a Mac app for desktop Zoom and Teams. Trippi Notes works only in the browser.
- Workflow tools. Tactiq connects to Google Docs, Notion, Slack and other tools (integrations). We export Markdown or plain text and send tasks to three trackers.
- Price for heavy use. Tactiq Pro has no cap on transcripts at $8 a month billed yearly. Trippi Notes sells hours: $6 for 10, $12 for 25, $24 for 70 a month. Past roughly 25 hours a month, Tactiq costs less.
Trippi Notes, with its limits
A Chrome extension for a computer. Click its icon in a Google Meet, Zoom or Teams tab in the browser, and it writes the transcript with names and times, a translation line in your language, then a summary, tasks with owners and a follow-up email draft. It does not join the call, keep audio or video, work in desktop apps or on a phone, or start from your calendar. Your own microphone is not in the transcript.
