With ChatGPT and Claude

An MCP server for your meetings and action items

Trippi Notes team · facts checked on 2026-10-17

You already have an assistant open all day. Your meetings are somewhere else, so you paste. MCP, the open protocol for giving assistants access to tools and data, removes the paste: Trippi Notes runs an MCP server for your journal, and Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor read your meetings and tasks directly, in their window, with your permission.

What the assistant can do with it

  • “Summarize my meetings with Acme this month.”
  • “What are my open tasks from this week’s meetings, by due date?”
  • “Find where we discussed the data retention clause, and quote it.”
  • “Draft the status update for Atlas from the last three planning meetings.”
  • In Cursor: “write the ticket for the export bug from Tuesday’s meeting, with the quote.”

The server exposes your meetings (title, date, participants, summary, transcript) and your tasks (owner, due date, status, quote). The assistant searches and reads; it does not write to your journal.

Connect it

  1. 1Copy your MCP address. In the Trippi Notes journal, open settings and copy the personal MCP address. It carries your access; treat it like a password.
  2. 2Add it to your assistant. Claude: Customize → Connectors → add a custom connector with the address. ChatGPT: add it as a custom app in developer mode. Cursor: add the address to the MCP configuration.
  3. 3Ask. “What did we decide about pricing last week?” The assistant reads your meetings and answers with the source.

The exact clicks differ by assistant and change with their releases; the three steps do not. Each assistant shows what the connector can do before you confirm.

What it looks like

You, in Claude: What did the client say about the deadline in our last two calls?
Claude: In the call on 9 October, Dana said the board meets on the 20th and needs the proposal a week before. On 14 October she confirmed “the 13th is the real deadline, not the 20th”. Source: Trippi Notes, meetings “Acme sync” 9 Oct and 14 Oct.

Access and privacy

  • Your address, your data. The MCP address is personal. Whoever has it can read your journal through an assistant, so keep it to yourself and revoke it in settings if it leaks.
  • Read only. The assistant reads meetings and tasks. It cannot delete, edit or send anything.
  • The assistant’s side. What Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor do with what they read is governed by their terms, not ours. Choose the assistant the way you choose any tool that sees your meetings.
  • Teams. On team plans the assistant sees the meetings you can see, by the team’s access rules.

Without MCP

“Open in ChatGPT” and “Open in Claude” on the meeting page copy the transcript and open the assistant; you paste. It works for one meeting. MCP works for all of them, and for questions that cross meetings. ChatGPT, Claude.

What the Trippi Notes MCP server is

A read-only MCP server over your meeting journal: meetings, summaries, transcripts, tasks. It works with Claude, ChatGPT (as a custom app, by plan) and Cursor, and with any client that speaks MCP. The meetings themselves are written from the browser on Google Meet, Zoom and Teams, without a bot.

FAQ

Asked about this.

What is MCP?+

Model Context Protocol: an open standard that lets an assistant connect to tools and data sources. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others support it.

Can the assistant join my meetings?+

No. It reads meetings that Trippi Notes wrote from your browser. The call is heard by the extension, not by the assistant.

Which ChatGPT plan is needed?+

ChatGPT connects custom apps in developer mode; how much it can do depends on your ChatGPT plan. Check OpenAI’s current page.

Can I revoke access?+

Yes. Regenerate or remove the address in settings; the old one stops working.

Is this on every plan?+

The MCP server is part of your journal; what the assistant can read is what your plan stores.
