Meeting minutes
A meeting minutes generator that listens to the call itself
Trippi Notes team · facts checked on 2026-10-17
Most minutes generators want a recording or a transcript file first. That means a host who recorded, a download, an upload, and twenty minutes after the call that you do not have. Trippi Notes writes the transcript during the call from your browser tab, and the minutes are one click after it ends.
What the minutes contain
Every summary has the same shape, so a reader knows where to look:
- Overview. Three or four sentences on what the meeting was about.
- Decisions. One line each, in the past tense, with who made them when it matters.
- Action items. Task, owner, due date, and the line in the transcript where it was agreed.
- Open questions. What nobody could answer yet, and who will find out.
The template changes what the model looks for, not the shape. A sales call and a retrospective give different minutes in the same fields.
Seven templates, one guess
| Template | What it focuses on |
|---|---|
| General meeting | Overview, decisions, tasks with owners, open questions. |
| Sales call | Pain, current tool, budget, decision maker, timeline, objections, next step. |
| Job interview | Questions and answers, examples given, gaps, what the candidate asked. No scoring. |
| Daily stand-up | Per person: done, next, blocked. Short by design. |
| One-on-one | Feedback both ways, goals, concerns, agreements. |
| Retrospective | What went well, what did not, what to change, who owns the change. |
| Customer interview | How they work today, problems in their words, workarounds, reactions. |
Trippi Notes guesses the template from the meeting name (“Daily”, “1:1”, “Interview”, “Retro”) or from the previous meeting of the same series, and shows the guess; you change it if it is wrong. On paid plans you can also add your own focus: “what was decided on timing and who promised what”.
An example
Decisions
Agreed to move the autumn release to 14 October.
Approved the extra QA week; Priya owns the plan.
Action items
Marcus: send the updated timeline to the client by Wednesday.
Emma: confirm with legal whether the new terms need a signature. Due Friday.
Open questions
Who covers support during the release week? Marcus to ask Dana.
Why not from a recording
A recording is a second copy of the meeting that someone has to keep, share and delete. Trippi Notes keeps text, not audio, so the minutes exist without the recording. If you are not the host and there is no recording, there are still minutes. When Teams gives you nothing.
Write it by hand instead
If you want to write minutes yourself, the structure and the phrases are on how to write meeting minutes and the minutes template. Minutes in your second language: 20 phrases.
How to start
- 1Open the call in Chrome. Google Meet, Zoom in the browser, or Teams in the browser.
- 2Click the Trippi Notes icon. It hears the meeting tab and your microphone and writes each line with the speaker’s name.
- 3Build the summary after the call. Pick a template, or let it guess from the meeting name, and read the result in your language.
Tell people you are taking notes. What to say.
What the generator does, and what it does not
It writes minutes from the live transcript of a browser call in 68 languages, in the language you read, by one of seven templates or your own focus. You can rebuild them, edit the tasks, copy them as Markdown or plain text, and email them to attendees. It does not take an audio file as input, and it does not work in the Zoom or Teams desktop apps.
