A tl;dv alternative that does not record the call
Trippi Notes team · facts checked on 2026-10-17
tl;dv records your meetings with a bot, keeps the video, lets you clip moments and share them, and writes AI notes on top. If the video is what you want, it is a good tool. If the video is what you do not want, because the client will not have a recorder in the room, because you are a guest, or because you do not need another library of recordings, you want something else.
What tl;dv does, in short
By its public pages on the date above: a bot joins meetings on Zoom, Google Meet and Teams, records video and audio, transcribes, writes notes and summaries, and sends them on to other tools. Clips of the video can be shared. Some of this is on a free plan; check their pricing page for the current limits.
Where it does not fit
- The bot. A recorder in the participant list. Some hosts keep it in the lobby; some companies ban it; some clients mind.
- The video. A recording is a second copy of the meeting that someone has to keep, share and delete. Not every team wants that.
- You are not the host. The bot needs to be let in. A guest in someone else’s meeting may not get that.
- Languages. A meeting in two languages is transcribed, but there is no line in your language under each line as it happens.
What Trippi Notes does instead
- No bot. It hears your browser tab after your click. Nothing joins the call. Tell people you take notes: what to say.
- No recording. The transcript, with names and times, is the record. The audio is not kept.
- Live translation. 68 languages, with a line in yours under each line.
- After the call. Summaries by template, tasks to Jira, Asana or Linear, a follow-up email sent in your name, a journal you can question, and your meetings in Claude or ChatGPT over MCP.
What you lose
Clips. There is no video to cut, so a moment is shared as a quote with a link to the line, not as a 30-second film. And it is browser only: Google Meet, Zoom in the browser, Teams in the browser, no desktop apps.

Trippi Notes, in one paragraph
A note taker that hears your browser tab, writes the transcript live with names and a translation line, and gives you summaries, tasks, follow-up emails and a journal, without a bot and without a recording.
