An AI meeting assistant for Microsoft Teams, without a bot

Trippi Notes team · facts checked on 2026-10-17

Teams has its own assistant, Copilot, and it is good if your company bought it and your organizer turned it on. Then there are the bots, which join your Teams meeting as a guest and record it. If you have neither the licence nor the appetite for a bot, the third way is an assistant that works in your own browser tab.

What the assistant does during the call

  • Live transcript. Each line with the speaker’s name from the Teams tile and the time. Your microphone is mixed in.
  • Translation line. A line in your language under each line, in 68 languages. Off by default, one click to turn on.
  • Ask about the meeting so far. “What did Dana say about the deadline?”, answered with the quote.

After the call

  • Summary by template. Stand-up, one-on-one, sales call, interview, retrospective, customer interview, or general.
  • Tasks. Owner, date, quote; to Jira, Asana or Linear, by hand or automatically.
  • Follow-up email. Written from the summary, attendees in To, sent in your name or opened in Outlook.
  • Journal. Search and questions across all your Teams meetings; your meetings in Claude or ChatGPT over MCP.

Teams in the browser

Trippi Notes hears a browser tab, so open the meeting in Chrome and choose “Continue on this browser” instead of the app. Audio, video, screen share and chat work in the browser. How Teams transcripts work and who gets them; when Teams says “not available”. Tell people you take notes: what to say.

When Copilot is the better choice

If your company has Copilot, the organizer turns transcription on, and the meeting is internal, Copilot gives the whole meeting one shared recap. Trippi Notes is for the calls where that is not true: guests, external calls, no licence, other languages, or notes you want to keep to yourself.

Trippi Notes on Microsoft Teams

A browser extension that hears the Teams tab after your click: live transcript with names, translation line, summaries, tasks, follow-up email, journal, MCP. No bot, no licence, no organizer needed. Not for the Teams desktop app.

No. It works in Chrome on any Teams account, including as a guest.

Nothing appears in the meeting. Tell the organizer you take notes.

No. Open the meeting in Chrome.

Can it replace Copilot?+

For your own notes, yes. For a company-wide recap that every attendee gets from Teams, Copilot does that and Trippi Notes does not.
