Meeting notes to Jira, without retyping
Trippi Notes team · facts checked on 2026-10-17
The issue in Jira is written an hour after the meeting, from memory, by whoever remembered. Half the context is gone and the quote that explained why is not there. If the meeting was written as text, the issue can be created from the sentence itself, with the sentence attached.
Connect Jira once
- 1Sign in. In Trippi Notes settings, connect Jira. It uses Atlassian’s own sign-in (OAuth); we never see your password.
- 2Pick where issues go. Choose the project and issue type. You can change it later or per meeting.
- 3Choose how. By hand: a button on each task. Or automatically: after every meeting, the tasks you accepted become issues.
What a issue looks like
Title from the task, the owner’s name, the due date if one was said, and a description with the quote from the transcript and a link to the meeting page. The person who opens the issue in Jira sees why it exists.
Confirm with legal whether the new terms need a signature
From the meeting “Atlas planning”, 14 Oct. Emma, 00:26:40: “Let me check with legal if this needs an actual signature or just an email.”
Accept before you send
Tasks from the transcript are drafts until you accept them. That is on purpose: a Jira board full of half-sentences is worse than none. Accept the ones that are real, fix the owner, then send. With automatic sending, only accepted tasks go.
What does not happen
- A change in Jira does not come back. The issue belongs to Jira once it is there.
- Trippi Notes does not read your Jira data beyond the list of places to send to.
- Nothing is sent from a meeting you did not take notes in.
How to start
- 1Open the call in Chrome. Google Meet, Zoom in the browser, or Teams in the browser.
- 2Click the Trippi Notes icon. It writes the transcript with names while the call is on.
- 3Accept the tasks after the call. Drafts come from what people said. Accept, edit or drop each one, then send them to your tracker.
What Trippi Notes does with Jira
Creates issues from accepted action items, with owner, date, quote and meeting link, by hand or after every meeting. The connection is Atlassian’s sign-in and can be removed in settings at any time. No two-way sync, no reminders.
FAQ
Asked about this.
Can I pick a different project per meeting?+
Yes. The default is set once, and any meeting can send to another place.
Are tasks sent during the meeting?+
No. After it, when the summary is built and you accept the tasks, or automatically if you chose that.
Will it create duplicates if I rebuild the summary?+
No. A task has a stable id; rebuilding the summary does not create a second issue.
Can I disconnect Jira?+
Yes, in settings, at any time.
