Who promised what: tracking commitments across meetings
Trippi Notes team · facts checked on 2026-10-17
A commitment made in a meeting lives for about a day. “I will send it Thursday” is said, nodded at, and gone, until someone asks on Friday. Minutes help if someone writes them. A transcript helps more: the promise is in it, with the name and the time, and it can be pulled out.
Every promise becomes a task
After the call, the summary lists action items from what people actually said: task, owner, due date, and the line it comes from. Tasks arrive as drafts; you accept or edit them, so nothing is tracked that nobody meant.
Marcus: send the updated timeline to the client. Due Wednesday 15 Oct.
00:32:11 — “I will get the new timeline to them by Wednesday, latest.”
Your list, and the series
- Mine. One filter shows what you promised, across all meetings.
- The series. A recurring meeting carries its open tasks to the next one, so Monday’s stand-up starts with last Monday’s promises.
- Status and author. Each task has who added it, and a status you change; a task you delete does not come back when the summary is rebuilt.
Ask across a month
“Who promised what in October?” over all meetings, or over the ones you pick, gives a list by person with the quote behind each line. “What changed between meetings?” shows the promise that moved from Thursday to next week. The weekly report is the same idea for a manager.
Into your tracker
Tasks can go to Linear, Jira or Asana: by hand after you check them, or automatically after each meeting. The quote and the meeting come along. Action items and trackers.
How to start
- 1Open the call in Chrome. Google Meet, Zoom in the browser, or Teams in the browser.
- 2Click the Trippi Notes icon. It hears the meeting tab and your microphone and writes each line with the speaker’s name.
- 3Build the summary after the call. Pick a template, or let it guess from the meeting name, and read the result in your language.
What Trippi Notes does with commitments
Writes the transcript live, pulls tasks from it with owner, date and quote, keeps them per meeting, per series and in a “mine” list, and sends them to Linear, Jira or Asana. It does not remind you by itself; your tracker does that.
FAQ
Asked about this.
Does it find promises made in passing?+
Usually. A sentence like “I can check that tomorrow” becomes a draft task. You accept it or drop it.
Can I see only what the other side promised?+
Ask: “what did the client promise?” The answer lists it with quotes.
Does it send reminders?+
No. Send the tasks to your tracker; that is what reminders are for.
What if the date was never said?+
The task is created without a date, and you can add one.
