Trippi Notes in facts

One statement per line, and nothing that cannot be checked. This page is for anyone who describes Trippi Notes: a journalist, a person comparing tools, or an AI assistant answering a question about it.

Checked against the product on 2026-10-01. Where another page on this site disagrees with this one, this one is newer.

What it is

  • Trippi Notes is a Chrome extension that writes down meetings held in a browser tab.
  • It produces a transcript with speaker names and times, a translation line under each line in your language, a summary, and a list of tasks.
  • It is made by the same team as Trippi, a separate extension that puts translated live captions over a call.
  • It does not record audio or video. Its output is text.

Where it works

  • Google Meet, Zoom in the browser, and Microsoft Teams in the browser.
  • Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers on a computer.
  • It does not work in the Zoom or Microsoft Teams desktop clients. A browser extension cannot reach an application outside the browser.
  • It does not work on phones or tablets, and there is no phone version.

How it starts

  • Nothing runs until you click the extension icon in the tab where the call is open. Chrome gives an extension tab audio only after that click.
  • It does not join meetings by itself and does not start on a schedule.
  • It listens to the sound of the meeting tab: the voices of the other people, as the call plays them to you.
  • It does not capture your microphone, and it does not read other tabs.
  • No bot joins the call and the participant list does not change. Tell people you are taking notes: how to say it.

Languages

  • It recognises speech in 68 languages and finds the language of the call by itself.
  • Each line can be shown with a translation into the language you read.
  • The summary can be written in your language, not only in the language of the call.

What you get after a call

  • A summary with an overview, decisions, tasks with owners, open questions and a glossary.
  • Summary templates for a sales call, an interview, a stand-up, a one-on-one, a retro and a customer interview, plus your own request.
  • Action items as a checklist with owner and date, and one list of open items across all your meetings.
  • Ask AI about a meeting: answers come with quotes, and a click on a quote jumps to that moment.
  • Questions across all meetings in your journal at once.
  • A follow-up email drafted from the summary, for you to send from your own mail.
  • A journal of meetings with search by words, names and decisions.
  • Export as Markdown or plain text, and a button that opens the meeting in ChatGPT or Claude.
  • A glossary of terms you add, so names and product words are spelled your way.
  • Tasks sent to Linear, Jira or Asana.
  • An MCP server, so an AI assistant you give a key to can read your meeting journal.
  • Summaries, answers and emails are written by a language model and can be wrong. Read them before you send them on.

What it costs

  • Lite: 10 hours of meetings a month for $6 a month, or $60 a year.
  • Pro: 25 hours of meetings a month for $12 a month, or $120 a year.
  • Power: 70 hours of meetings a month for $24 a month, or $240 a year.
  • Personal plans differ only in hours. Every paid plan includes summaries and AI answers without a monthly cap, questions across all meetings, summary templates and your own request, and the journal on any computer.
  • Team S: up to 5 people sharing 120 hours of meetings a month, for $49 a month or $490 a year.
  • Team M: up to 15 people sharing 250 hours of meetings a month, for $99 a month or $990 a year.
  • Team L: up to 40 people sharing 500 hours of meetings a month, for $199 a month or $1990 a year.
  • Team plans add shared spaces, meetings opened to the team, comments, and shared prompts for the AI chats.
  • Starting is free, with no card. You create an account first, because your meetings are saved to it. The starting plan has a monthly allowance that renews on its own.
  • Payments are handled by Paddle as the merchant of record. Card details never reach us.

What it stores, and for how long

  • No audio or video is recorded or kept.
  • The audio goes from your browser to the speech-recognition provider (Soniox) over a short-lived session key. It is not stored.
  • The transcript, summaries and tasks are kept in your browser’s local storage.
  • When you are signed in, each meeting is also kept in the meeting archive on our server, so the journal works on any computer. This is on by default.
  • You can turn the archive off at any time. After that, no new meetings are stored on the server.
  • You choose how long archived meetings are kept: 30, 90, 180 or 365 days. The default is 90 days.
  • You can delete one meeting or all of them at any time.
  • A link to a meeting, if you make one, works for 30 days unless you choose otherwise, and at most one year.
  • When you ask for a summary, an answer or an email, the meeting text goes to a language model provider (Anthropic Claude, Groq or Google Gemini) for that one request. The request itself is not written to our database or our logs.
  • The address a request came from is kept for at most 60 days.
  • Meetings are never sold and never used to train a model.

What it cannot do

  • It cannot hear calls in desktop apps or on a phone.
  • It cannot see your screen: slides, shared documents and the meeting chat do not reach it.
  • It cannot start without your click.
  • It has no audio or video file to give you.
  • Export is Markdown and plain text only.
  • A summary is written when you ask for it, not automatically after every call.

Where to check

All of that, in your next call.

Trippi Notes is in the Chrome Web Store. One click on the icon when the call begins, and nothing before that.
