The 68 languages Trippi Notes recognizes and translates
Trippi Notes team · facts checked on 2026-10-30
Short answer: Trippi Notes recognizes speech in 68 languages, finds the language of the call by itself, and can show a translation line under each sentence in any of the same 68. The summary, the tasks and the follow-up email can be written in any of them too. The full list is below, in alphabetical order of the English name, with the name in the language itself and the code the extension uses.

Checked against the extension on 2026-10-30. A language is on this list only when both halves work: speech recognition hears it and translation can write it. A language that only one of the two supports is left out, because the result would be an empty line.
How the language is chosen
- The call. Nothing to set. The language spoken is recognized on its own, and it can change in the middle of the call: a line in German, then a line in English, each written as it was said.
- The translation line. You pick the language you read, once. Each finished line gets a translation under it in that language. The line is off until you turn it on.
- The summary, tasks and email. Written in the language you set for reading, whatever was spoken. Meeting notes in your language when the call is in another.
- Two languages in one call. Both are written as spoken, and each side reads the other in translation. Spanish and English, German and English.
Variants and scripts
Where the script or the region changes the translation, the variant is its own entry: Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Brazilian and European Portuguese. Austrian and Swiss German are recognized as German; Norwegian is written as bokmål. Names, product terms and abbreviations are spelled your way through the glossary in the extension.
By platform and language
Pages with the details for one language on one platform, with what the platform itself offers in that language: transcripts by language and platform.
What Trippi Notes does with languages
Live transcript with speaker names in 68 languages from the browser tab in Google Meet, Zoom and Teams, a translation line in the language you read, and a summary, tasks and a follow-up email in the language you choose. It does not work in the desktop apps or on a phone, does not keep the audio, and the translation is machine translation: the original line stays next to it.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to set the language before the call?+
No. The language spoken is recognized on its own. You only choose the language of the translation line, and only if you want one.
Can the call be in a language that is not on the list?+
It will not be transcribed well. The list is what speech recognition and translation both support today; it grows when both sides add a language.
Can I translate into a language that was not spoken in the call?+
Yes. Any of the 68 can be the translation line, and the summary can be written in any of them.
Does the list differ between Google Meet, Zoom and Teams?+
No. The audio is taken from the browser tab, so the platform does not matter; the same list applies to all three.
How is this different from the platform’s own captions?+
Meet, Zoom and Teams translate captions on some paid plans and in a shorter list of languages, and the setting belongs to the organizer. Trippi Notes works from your own tab, on any plan, as a guest too.
