German and English meetings, translated live, both ways
Trippi Notes team · facts checked on 2026-10-17
A supplier in Stuttgart who presents in German. A board that reads English. A hiring call where the candidate is stronger in German and the panel is not. Technical German has long compound words and numbers in a different order, and a live line in English keeps the numbers right.
What it looks like
Each line appears with the speaker’s name, in German or English as it was said, with a line in the language you chose under it.
Herr Vogel 00:17:50 — Die Lieferung verschiebt sich um zwei Wochen, wenn die Freigabe nicht bis Montag kommt.
The delivery slips by two weeks if the approval does not come by Monday.
German and English in one call
- Austrian and Swiss German are recognized as German; dialect in a fast meeting is harder, and the original line stays there to check.
- Dates and amounts are kept exactly in the original line; the translation line is for meaning.
- Minutes can be written in German or English from the same transcript; the phrases page covers the usual German-to-English slips (“bis” and “until”, “aktuell” and “actual”).
Where it works
Google Meet, Zoom in the browser and Teams in the browser, from your side of the call: the host does not need a plan or a setting. Live translation by platform.
After the call
- Summary. Decisions, tasks and open questions, in German or English, whichever you read.
- Follow-up email. Written from the summary in the language of the person you send it to. Send the notes to attendees.
- Questions. Ask about the meeting in German or English; the answer quotes the original lines.
How to start
- 1Open the call in Chrome. Google Meet, Zoom in the browser, or Teams in the browser.
- 2Click the Trippi Notes icon. From that click it hears the meeting tab and your microphone, and writes each line with the speaker’s name.
- 3Read along, or read it after. The lines appear as people speak. After the call you get a summary, tasks and a follow-up draft.
Tell people you are taking notes; a sentence at the start is enough. What to say.
What Trippi Notes does with German and English
Both languages are recognized live, with a translation line in the one you choose; your own words are included. The summary, tasks and email come in the language you read. It does not speak the translation, and it does not replace an interpreter for a signed agreement.
