Interview notes without a bot in the room
Trippi Notes team · facts checked on 2026-10-01
An interview is stressful enough for the candidate without a bot watching from the participant list. And for you, the hard part is not the call itself but the fifth call of the day, when the first one is already a blur. Trippi Notes writes each interview from your browser tab and gives every candidate the same summary, so you compare answers, not memories.
Tell the candidate first
Start every interview the same way: “I’m taking notes with an AI tool so I can listen to you instead of typing. Is that OK?” Paste the line in the chat too (what to say and a line to paste). If a candidate says no, take notes by hand and do not count it against them.
Hiring has its own rules in many countries and companies, including rules about AI. Check your company’s policy before you use any AI tool in interviews. Trippi Notes takes notes; it does not score or rank people, and it should not be the one making the decision.
One template for every candidate
Fair notes start with the same questions to every summary. Pick the interview template after each call:
Interview — [candidate], [role], [date] Background: roles and experience the candidate described Answers by question: for each main question, what they said, briefly Examples: concrete stories they gave, with the result Skills shown: what they demonstrated, not what they claimed Questions they asked: what they wanted to know about us Concerns: gaps or doubts, with the line that raised them Logistics: notice period, location, salary expectations if discussed Next step: what we promised them, and by when
Because each line in the summary comes from the transcript, you can open the moment a concern was raised and listen again in your head with the exact words in front of you. That makes the debrief with the hiring manager shorter, and it keeps one strong opinion from rewriting what the candidate said.
Comparing candidates
All interviews land in your journal. Ask across them: “which candidates talked about leading a migration?” or “what did each person say about on-call?” The answer quotes the lines and the meetings they came from. You still decide; the journal just stops you from relying on who was most memorable.
Candidates in other languages
Remote hiring means accents and second languages, on both sides. Trippi Notes hears 68 languages and writes a translation line under each line in your language. If a candidate explains a tricky point in their first language, or a colleague joins in another language, the notes keep up. The summary is written in the language you read.
Be careful with language as a signal. A transcript of someone speaking their second language reads rougher than they sound; judge the content, not the grammar.
After the interview
- Feedback to the candidate. Draft it from the summary while the call is fresh, and send it from your own mail.
- Debrief notes. Copy the summary as Markdown or plain text into your hiring tool.
- Delete what you should not keep. Your journal is yours to clean. Follow your company’s rules on how long interview notes are kept, and delete meetings you no longer need.
How to start
- 1Open the call in Chrome. Google Meet, Zoom in the browser, or Microsoft Teams in the browser.
- 2Click the Trippi Notes icon. From that click it hears the meeting tab and writes each line with the speaker’s name.
- 3Pick the template after the call. The summary is written by the template you choose, in the language you read.
What Trippi Notes does in an interview
It hears the meeting tab in Chrome after your click, on Google Meet, Zoom or Teams in the browser. Nothing joins the call, so tell the candidate yourself. You get the transcript with names and times, an interview summary, and questions you can ask across all interviews. It does not keep the audio, does not work in the desktop apps, and does not judge candidates.
