Meeting notes for managers, without a notebook

Trippi Notes team · facts checked on 2026-10-17

A manager’s week is meetings, and the notes from them are the job: what you agreed with each person, what the team decided, what you owe upward. Taking those notes while also running the meeting is the part that does not scale. Trippi Notes writes the meeting from your browser tab; you run it.

One-on-ones that remember

Pick the one-on-one template once; Trippi Notes remembers it for the series. The summary keeps feedback in both directions, goals, concerns and agreements, and next week’s 1:1 starts with the open items from this one.

One-on-one — [name], [date]

Since last time: what moved on the agreements
Their topics: what they brought, in their words
Feedback: given and received
Growth: goals, what they want to learn or change
Concerns: anything that worried them, and how it landed
Agreements: who does what by when

A 1:1 is private. The notes are in your journal, not in the meeting, and the follow-up email rule skips one-on-ones by default. Tell the person you take notes (what to say).

Staff meetings that end with owners

The daily or weekly team meeting gets the stand-up template: per person, what is done, what is next, what is blocked. Every “I will” becomes a draft task with the owner and the quote; you accept them in a minute, and they go to the tracker. Blockers go to open questions with the name of whoever is blocked.

The weekly report, from the meetings

Friday: pick the week, ask “report for a manager”, and the report comes with decisions, risks and what needs a decision from above, each with the meeting it came from. How the weekly report works. “Who promised what this week?” is the other question worth saving.

Hiring and skip-levels

Interviews get the interview template, which reports and does not score. Skip-level meetings are 1:1s with the same rule: private, and skipped by the email rule unless you change it.

How to start

  1. 1Open the call in Chrome. Google Meet, Zoom in the browser, or Microsoft Teams in the browser.
  2. 2Click the Trippi Notes icon. It hears the meeting tab and your microphone and writes each line with the speaker’s name.
  3. 3Pick the template after the call. The summary follows the template; tasks and the follow-up email come from it.

What Trippi Notes does for a manager

Writes every meeting live from the browser with names, summarizes by template (1:1, stand-up, interview, retrospective and more), carries open items across a series, turns promises into tasks for the tracker, and answers questions across the week. 68 languages, with a translation line. No bot, no audio kept, not for the desktop apps.
