Not every meeting is a video call. A room with four people and a laptop on the table is still a meeting that needs minutes, and a note taker that only hears browser tabs hears nothing there. The microphone is already part of Trippi Notes, for your own voice during calls. A mode that uses only the microphone, with no call at all, is next.
What is planned
- Microphone-only mode. Start a meeting from the extension without a call tab: the laptop microphone is the source.
- The same output. A transcript with lines separated by voice, a summary by template, tasks, a follow-up draft, the journal.
- Names by hand. A room has no tiles to read names from; you name the voices after the meeting, once, and the transcript updates.
- Languages. The same recognition and the same translation line; a meeting in two languages in one room is written in both.
What the microphone does today
During a Google Meet, Zoom or Teams call in the browser, your microphone is mixed with the tab, so your own words are in the transcript. It is the same microphone the meeting uses, chosen on the panel with a live level meter. The piece that is missing is starting without a call.
A workaround that works
Start any video call in a browser tab with yourself (a Meet link of your own works), put the laptop on the table, and click the Trippi Notes icon. The microphone is live, the room is heard, and the transcript is written. It is a trick, and the names are missing, but the minutes are real.

Not from the room. Voices will be separated where the audio allows, and you name them.

No. A laptop with Chrome.

Rules differ by country and workplace. Tell everyone, and stop if someone objects.
