Roadmap

Transcribe a meeting recording you already have

Trippi Notes team · facts checked on 2026-10-17

Not in Trippi Notes yet. On the roadmap.

Someone recorded the meeting and sent you the file. Or the lecture is a recording. Or you dictated a memo in the car. Today Trippi Notes writes the transcript live, from the browser, and has no door for a file. That door is the next thing we build, because it reuses everything else: the same recognition, the same summary, the same journal.

What is planned

  • Upload from the journal. Audio or video: mp3, m4a, wav, mp4 and the usual formats, up to a length that covers a long meeting.
  • The same output. A transcript with speakers where the audio allows it, a summary by template, tasks, a follow-up draft, questions with quotes, the translation line.
  • The same account. Minutes of audio count like minutes of a live call; the recording itself is not kept after it is transcribed.

What works today: play it in a tab

Trippi Notes hears any browser tab after your click, not only a meeting. Open the recording in a tab (a video player, a file opened in Chrome, a web player), click the icon, and press play. The transcript is written as it plays, which means it takes as long as the recording. Speaker names are not available from a file; lines are marked by voice changes where the audio allows. It is a workaround, and it works.

What works today: the live call

For the meetings you attend, there is no file to upload: the transcript is written during the call. Live transcription.

What works today, in full

What Trippi Notes does today: a live transcript of Google Meet, Zoom and Teams calls in the browser, with speaker names and a translation line, in 68 languages; summaries by template, tasks to Jira, Asana and Linear, follow-up emails, a journal with search and questions, and an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. All the facts on one page.

Where this stands

Not built: uploading a file. Built: live transcripts from the browser, and the tab trick for playing a recording. Press the button and we tell you when the upload ships.

FAQ

Asked about this.

When can I upload a recording?+

It is next on the roadmap. Press “Tell me when it ships” and we write to you on the day.

Will speaker names work from a file?+

From a file there are no meeting tiles to read names from. Speakers will be separated by voice where possible, and you can name them.

Will the recording be kept?+

No. It is transcribed and then discarded; the text stays in your journal by your retention setting.

Can I transcribe a recording today somehow?+

Yes: play it in a browser tab and let Trippi Notes hear the tab. It takes the length of the recording.
