Verve is not a desktop-only tool, and we will not pretend it is
Some comparison pages in this category lump every rival under “desktop app”. Verve AI is not one of them: its own site lists Browser, macOS, Windows, Mobile and ships a desktop app besides. If you want a browser option, Verve has one too. The difference is narrower and more useful than “we are in the browser”: Cue is only ever an extension, and Verve is a suite you can reach four ways.
The unit each one sells
Verve counts sessions, with a clock on each
Standard gives 60-minute Copilot sessions; Pro gives uncapped 90-minute ones. A session that runs long ends, and a short call still spends a session. It is a good fit if your interviews are scheduled, similar in length and few.
Cue counts minutes, and only the ones it hears
Cue bills the seconds it is actually listening. A twelve-minute screening call costs twelve minutes out of your five, twelve or thirty hours. Nothing is spent by opening the window and nothing is capped per call.

The page opens on the annual tab by default, so the $16.99 and $34.99 figures you see first are monthly equivalents of a yearly commitment — the month-to-month prices are $44.99 and $84.99. Verve does not display the total annual charge, so we cannot quote it.
Who each one is for
Verve is a preparation platform with a live copilot inside it. If you want to rehearse, get scored, rewrite a resume and then have help in the room, that is one subscription doing all of it, and Cue replaces none of those parts.
Cue is the opposite shape: one job, done in the tab, priced so that a light month costs $6. There is no resume builder, no ATS checker, no mock interview, no domain library and no report afterwards. What there is instead is a smaller thing that installs in one click and hears the call in a language you may not be interviewing in.
Both capture audio on your own device, so neither adds a participant to the meeting.

Choosing between the two.
Is Verve AI more expensive?+
Month to month, substantially: $44.99 for Standard against $6, $12 or $24 for Cue’s three steps. On a yearly commitment Verve shows $16.99 a month for Standard, which lands between our $12 and $24 steps — but it buys five 60-minute sessions plus the preparation suite, not hours of meeting time. The units do not convert.
Verve has a browser version. So what is left of the difference?+
Verve’s browser version is one of four ways to reach the product. Cue has no other way and never asks you to install anything. If the thing standing between you and a copilot is a locked-down laptop, that matters; if it is not, Verve’s browser path works fine.
Can Cue help me practise like Verve’s mock interviews?+
No. Cue has no practice mode and produces no report. It only runs during a live call.
I interview in a language I am not fluent in. Which one?+
That is the case Cue is built around: 68 answer languages, the interviewer’s lines rendered in yours, the answer written in the one you picked, translation on by default. Verve lists 55+ languages but we found no claim on its pages that it translates between two of them at once.
Does Cue have anything for a hiring team?+
No. There is no team plan, no shared pool and no admin view. Verve sells an Enterprise tier for that starting at $10 a session.
