Doxy.me has live captions, and two limits come with them: they require the Pro plan, and they are English only. For any other language the platform’s answer is a human interpreter joined to the visit and billed by the minute — Voyce at $0.99 a minute, or LanguageLine covering a short list of languages. That is the right tool for a consultation where precision is medical. It is a poor fit for the moment before it: reading the appointment confirmation, following what the receptionist says, understanding whether you are in the right virtual room.
It is help understanding, not a medical interpreter
This matters enough to say plainly. Trippi is machine translation of live speech. It is good enough to follow a conversation as it happens; it is not a certified medical interpreter and should not be used in place of one where a diagnosis, a dosage or consent is being discussed. If the clinic offers an interpreter, take the interpreter.
What it is good for is everything around that: the parts of a visit where a patient currently just nods, and the visits where no interpreter was booked because nobody realised one was needed until the call started.

Does Doxy.me translate captions itself?+
No. Its live captions require the Pro plan and are English only. Translation is offered as a live human interpreter added to the visit and billed per minute.
Is this a replacement for a medical interpreter?+
No, and it should not be used as one. It is machine translation of live speech — helpful for following a conversation, not appropriate where a diagnosis, dosage or consent depends on the exact words.
